Director of international projects on Emissions from marine engines, and Control of Marine Powerplants. Coordinator of major international project HERCULES on marine engine R&D. Has headed projects on Engine modeling and simulation. Integrated ship control systems, Power systems for submarines, Ship machinery remote inspection through satellite communications, ship maneouvring. Served as National Expert in the Non-Nuclear Energy (JOULE) programme CEC-DG XII, and in the Telematics for Transport programme CEC-DG XIII. Reviewer in BRITE-EURAM, MAST, JOULE, Telematics, ESPRIT, Transport, IST. Member of the Expert Advisory Group of the European Commission for the Key Action "Land Transport & Marine Technologies" of FP5. Consultant in Engine design and performance evaluation, Ship Machinery claims and Shipbuilding contracts.
